29 combat clashes on Russia-Ukraine frontline took place since the beginning of the day. The situation is tense in the area of Petropavlivka in the Kupiansk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Russian military fired 706 times at the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and settlements.

Situation in the sectors

In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled an enemy attack in the direction of Lyptsi. The defense forces are trying to improve the defense lines and are succeeding in some areas.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Russian troops tried to improve the tactical situation four times. The situation in the area of Petropavlivka is tense. Fighting is ongoing in the area of Hrekivka. The situation in the area is under control.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled five assault attacks. Three attacks were stopped. Currently, there is fighting in the areas of Spirne and Vyimka. The situation is tense.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy tried to attack in the vicinity of Klishchiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops are taking measures to prevent the enemy's advance. Fighting continues near Sokil, Umanske, and Nevelske. An attack near Novooleksandrivka was repelled.

In the Kurakhove sector, fighting continues in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostiantynivka. The situation is dynamic and remains under the control of the Defense Forces.

In the Vremivka sector, a defensive battle is taking place near Staromaiorske. The situation is under control.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian military did not conduct any assault operations. But it is conducting attacks to force the fighters from the front defense line.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, two enemy attacks were repelled at footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River near Krynky.

Russia's offensive

In early May, the Russian army launched an offensive against the Kharkiv region. With the lack of success, the Russians are trying to stretch the line of fighting towards the Donetsk region.

According to British intelligence, Ukrainian soldiers managed to stabilize the situation at the front in the Kharkiv region.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the hottest areas are Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Kurakhove.
