19-year-old attacks students and teacher with knife at school in Poland

In the Polish city of Ostrołęka, a 19-year-old student carried out a knife attack at a vocational school and nearby. At least seven people were injured in the incident, according to RMF FM and the Mazovian Voivodeship Police report.
The attack took place at Vocational School Complex No. 4 during a lesson.
According to law enforcement and emergency services, the 19-year-old, who is a student at the same school, stabbed other students as well as a teacher.
The attacker also injured several more people near the building while trying to flee.
All of the victims were taken to hospitals conscious, mostly with cuts. All students and staff were evacuated from the school.
Police located and detained the suspect near the municipal beach 25 minutes after receiving the call. The young man also injured himself while fleeing, so he was given medical assistance as well.
Following the incident, the school was temporarily closed, while emergency services and police psychologists are working at the scene.
"For the safety of students and staff, Vocational School Complex No. 4 has been closed. At the same time, I have issued instructions to prevent unauthorized persons from entering all other schools managed by the city of Ostrołęka," Mayor Paweł Niewiadomski said.
He stressed that the situation is under the control of the emergency services and urged residents, parents, and students to remain calm.
This is not the first similar incident in Poland in recent months.
In September, an armed attack took place on the grounds of a Benedictine convent in the city of Jarosław, where a Ukrainian citizen attacked people with a knife.
One person was killed, and four others were injured in the incident.
The attacker was later subject to the first procedural decision, with a court ordering the Ukrainian national suspected of murder to be held in custody for three months.
Due to the suspect's severe mental condition, he was placed under guard in a specialized hospital ward.
