‘US can push Russia toward dialogue’, Zelenskyy reveals conditions

The United States may push Russian President Vladimir Putin toward negotiations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says.
“The US can push Russia toward dialogue. It can be a leader’s meeting in any format. The main thing is to stop the killing,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Ukrainian President stressed that Kyiv is ready for a proposal from US President Donald Trump.
“Trilateral format and then bilateral, or vice versa. But it must be leaders, not ‘technical teams’,” Zelenskyy said.
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine
Earlier, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin does not rule out the possibility of a meeting with the President of Ukraine.
According to Peskov, such a meeting could take place if, at the expert level, the necessary part of the work is completed.
The Russian President himself also spoke about readiness for peace negotiations with Ukraine, but insisted on his own conditions.
However, as expected, Moscow is trying to delay the process: the Kremlin constantly finds reasons why the meeting is not yet possible.
Initially, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is ready to continue negotiations and allows for a possible summit, which “should put a full stop to this process.”
Later, the Kremlin said that a summit is possible only if all the issues requiring discussion at the highest level are well worked out.”
