American actor Shia LaBeouf, known for his role in Transformers, has run into legal trouble once more. This time, the actor was detained during the Mardi Gras festival in New Orleans, according to TMZ.
How the arrest happened
The incident occurred on February 17, shortly after midnight, at a bar in the French Quarter.
According to eyewitnesses, staff removed LaBeouf from the establishment for unknown reasons. A fight broke out afterward, leading to his arrest.
Reports indicate that the actor initiated the altercation. Video footage circulating online shows only part of the scuffle, in which LaBeouf takes several hits.
It is noted that the fight occurred before police and medical personnel arrived.

Afterwards, LaBeouf walked through the block and then returned to the bar entrance, where he was assisted.
According to Newsweek, two victims at the scene reported the assault to police. They stated that the actor “behaved even more aggressively” upon his return.
According to court documents, LaBeouf was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.
Actor’s past legal issues
This is far from the first high-profile incident. Previously, British singer FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against the actor, alleging sexual assault and psychological abuse. The case was settled in July of last year.
Another incident occurred in 2017, when LaBeouf was detained for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. At that time, the court ordered him to complete a rehabilitation program.
Sources suggest the actor may be going through a difficult period, as he and his wife, Mia Goth, reportedly separated secretly a year ago. Following the split, he moved to New Orleans to be closer to family members.
