Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, according to the presidential website.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Annalena Baerbock for the conversation and for Germany’s clear support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the presidential statement, Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine’s key priorities for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, including drawing attention to the situation in the occupied territories and support for an updated draft resolution on human rights violations in those areas.

He also raised with Baerbock Ukraine’s cooperation with international partners on initiating and advancing a resolution condemning the abduction and deportation of children.

Zelenskyy's visit to New York

On Tuesday, September 23, Zelenskyy arrived in the United States to take part in the 80th UN General Assembly session.

As part of the visit, he met with US President Donald Trump, with talks focused on prospects for ending the war in Ukraine. Following the meeting, Zelenskyy said Trump had shifted his stance on the conflict, acknowledging that Ukraine could not trade territory with Russia.

Zelenskyy also suggested that Trump could even influence Chinese President Xi Jinping’s position on the war.

In addition, Zelenskyy held talks with Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, focusing on humanitarian issues.
