In the Sumy region, Russian forces attacked rescuers who had arrived to inspect a residential area in the Bilopillia district. Shortly before, the area had also been hit by Russia, according to a post by Ukraine’s SES.

It is reported that SES rescuers arrived at the scene to inspect damaged buildings and assist residents. However, the enemy soon repeated the attack, directing fire directly at the emergency service personnel.

Two rescuers were injured and urgently taken to the hospital, where doctors are providing them with all necessary care.

During the shelling, a fire truck at the site to eliminate the consequences of the strike, was also damaged.

After SES workers completed their tasks and left the area, the enemy struck the same location again. According to SES representatives, this pattern of attack indicates a deliberate targeting of emergency service units engaged in saving civilians.

It is known that Russia attacked an SES vehicle in Kramatorsk while rescuers were extinguishing a fire in a residential building. The strike was carried out deliberately. No casualties were reported.

Russian forces are trying to entrench themselves on the northern approaches to Sloviansk in the Donetsk region. Russia is seeking to establish fire control over the outskirts of the city and the main roads leading to it.
