Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is still waiting for a call from US President Donald Trump following his talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska,
according to the Financial Times.

According to the Financial Times, a source close to Zelenskyy said the Ukrainian president had so far received no word from Trump after his talks with Putin, describing the situation as "very strange."

Another source characterized the outcome of the Alaska summit as a "nothingburger", a term used to describe an event that attracts much attention but ultimately proves insignificant.

Alaska summit: what is known

US President Donald Trump met Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, with the war in Ukraine as the central topic of discussion. Initially planned as a one-on-one, the talks instead took place in a three-on-three format and lasted around three hours.

Joining Trump were Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff. Putin was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and aide Yuri Ushakov.

The Russian delegation described the talks as "positive." Russia’s ambassador to the US, Alexander Darcheyev, said the atmosphere of the meeting was "generally positive."

Trump himself stated he would call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following his conversation with Putin.

What Trump and Putin discussed, and whether there is any "deal" on Ukraine, can be read in RBC-Ukraine’s full report.
