Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 19

As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on September 19, there were 124 combat engagements reported on the front lines during the day, with nearly half of them recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian strikes
Today, Russian forces carried out 55 airstrikes, dropping 98 guided bombs. In addition, they launched 2,032 attack drones and conducted 3,475 strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
Frontline updates
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled seven Russian assaults since the start of the day, while one battle is ongoing. Russian forces also carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 21 guided bombs, and launched 133 strikes, including three from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Vovchansk, Fiholivka, and towards Odradne; one engagement is still underway.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked near Stepova Novoselivka and Pishchane. Ukrainian defenders repelled two out of three assaults, while one battle continues.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked 15 times near Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Torske, Zarichne, and towards Stavky, Novoselivka, and Serednie. Four clashes are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three assaults near Vyiimka and Dronivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops twice attempted, unsuccessfully, to break through Ukrainian defenses near Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched 16 assaults near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Poltavka, and towards Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Ivanopillia, and Stepanivka. Four battles are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attempted 47 assaults since the beginning of the day near Volodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Udachne, Dachne, Chervonyi Lyman, and Novopavlivka. Three engagements are ongoing.
Preliminary reports indicate 195 Russian soldiers were eliminated, 124 of them irreversibly. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 13 vehicles, five UAVs, and damaged one artillery system, a UAV command post, and eight personnel shelters.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops launched 28 assaults near Filiia, Voskresenka, Berezove, Maliivka, Novoivanivka, Piddubne, Zelenyi Hai, Tolstoi, Sichneve, Novomykolaivka, and Olhivske. Six clashes are still underway.
In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces did not conduct ground assaults but carried out an airstrike with unguided rockets on Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attacked twice near Kamianske and towards Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian troops attempted two unsuccessful assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge and carried out an airstrike on Olhivka.
No significant changes were reported in other directions.
Ukrainian gains in Donbas
Earlier today, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that Ukrainian troops liberated seven settlements in the Dobropillia direction. Ukrainian forces advanced 3–7 kilometers into Russian defenses and cleared nine settlements of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
