As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on August 31, a total of 137 combat clashes had taken place on the front since the beginning of the day. The heaviest fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Attacks and combat clashes

Since the beginning of August 31, there have been 137 combat clashes. Russian forces launched one missile strike and 41 airstrikes, using one missile and dropping 57 guided bombs. In addition, they employed 1,829 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,107 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

Frontlines update

In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defense forces repelled four attacks by Russian forces. Since the start of the day, Russian forces have carried out six airstrikes, dropped nine guided bombs, and conducted 185 shelling attacks, including three from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian troops stopped six assaults by Russian forces near Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Zapadne, and Krasne Pershe.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted four offensive actions near Synkivka, Stara Novoselivka, and toward Novoplatonivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked 22 times near Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Karpivka, and toward Dronivka, Serebrianka, Yampil, and Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 10 Russian assaults near Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, three combat clashes were recorded. Russian forces attempted to advance toward Bila Hora and in the area of Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched five unsuccessful assaults on Defense Forces positions, concentrating their main efforts near Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Poltavka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian assault units attempted 40 times to break through Ukrainian defenses near Volodymyrivka, Mayak, Fedorivka, Nykanorivka, Nove Shakhove, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Sukhetske, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Horikhove, and Dachne.
Ukrainian forces eliminated 138 Russian troops on this axis, including 95 irrecoverable losses. They also destroyed two tanks, five armored combat vehicles, two UAV control antennas, and 31 drones; two vehicles and six personnel shelters were damaged.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces launched 22 assaults near Filiya, Yalta, Tovste, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, Voskresenka, and Komyshuvakha.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attacked once, attempting to advance near Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces carried out five unsuccessful attacks.

Russian losses

According to the General Staff, over the past day (August 30–31), Russian forces lost 810 personnel. Ukrainian forces also destroyed nearly 40 cruise missiles and 83 vehicles.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian losses have exceeded 1 million personnel.
