Presidential Office responds to AP information on deadline for West to agree on victory plan
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not set a deadline for allies to adopt Ukraine's victory plan in the war with Russia. However, everyone understands that this cannot be delayed, stated Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in a comment to the YouTube channel RBC-Ukraine.
What preceded this
Today, the American agency Associated Press reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave Western allies three months to agree on the main provisions of Ukraine's victory plan in the war.
According to journalists, some partners expressed concerns over the tight deadlines set by Zelenskyy.
The agency also noted that the first of the five points in the victory plan is likely the most ambitious and will probably lead Western allies to back away. This refers to inviting Ukraine to NATO while hostilities are ongoing.
What does the Office of the President say
According to Podolyak, "there are certainly no ultimatum deadlines" regarding the adoption of the victory plan by allies.
"No one will say that to partners. But both partners and we understand that the war cannot stagnate. Because Russia is accumulating resources and conducting additional mobilizations, and then you have to break through defenses and powerful fortifications that Russia has had time to build. That’s nonsense," the advisor emphasized.
He stressed that the partners also understand this.
Victory plan
On Wednesday, October 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the victory plan for the war with Russia.
It consists of five points: geopolitical, military, economic, and security. The plan also includes three classified appendices presented to the relevant partners.
