Huliaipole is large gray zone, where fighting takes place for every house - Ukraine's forces

The situation in the Huliaipil direction remains difficult. The entire city is a gray zone, where active combat is ongoing, Vladyslav Voloshyn, Southern Defense Forces spokesperson, states this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
Voloshyn reported that the situation in three directions in the south is quite difficult, as the Russian forces are actively conducting assaults, carrying out airstrikes, and intensively using drones.
Just over the past day, January 12, around fifty combat clashes were recorded in the south, more than 30 of which took place in the Huliaipole direction. In Huliaipole itself, there were 21 combat clashes, with several more in the outskirts of the city or nearby settlements. These include the villages of Varvarivka and Zelene, as well as the settlement of Zaliznychne.
Fierce fighting continues in the Huliaipole area, with the Russian units attempting to push Ukrainian defenders back from both the city and the aforementioned villages and settlement.
"The situation in Huliaipole resembles a large gray zone, where the enemy carries out its assault actions but cannot establish a foothold. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are destroying them. We are also conducting search-and-strike operations, and in the city itself, in the urban neighborhoods and on the streets, fierce fighting continues — over every house, facility, street, and block," the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces said.
Situation in Huliaipole
Previously, Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn stated that in the Huliaipole area, Russian troops are attempting to advance on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from several directions — north, south, and west — but have been unable to establish a foothold in the city itself.
He noted that constant clashes are taking place in Huliaipole between mobile assault and reconnaissance-search units on both sides. The enemy enters the city in small detachments but encounters Ukrainian assault forces and is unable to establish stable control points.
