Expert assesses whether military exercises in Belarus pose a threat to Ukraine
Since Belarus is effectively dependent on Russia, the threat to Ukraine from its side cannot be ruled out. However, the country still tries to stay as far as possible from active involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine, states aviation expert Valerii Romanenko in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
"Well, considering that Belarus is effectively dependent on Russia and is a vassal and that the attack on us in 2022 was launched from Belarusian territory, the threat is indeed not ruled out," said Romanenko.
However, in his opinion, since Belarus is currently trying to stay as far as possible from actively participating in Russia's war against Ukraine, "it's better to ask the employees of the GUR (Defense Intelligence), who have more accurate assessments thanks to various radio-electronic, intelligence, and other means."
"What can be gathered from the media doesn't provide such a clear assessment," the expert added.
Military exercises in Belarus
Today we reported that military exercises have begun on the territory of Belarus, which will last until December 31. As a result, air raid alerts may become more frequent in the Rivne and Volyn regions.
It is noted that in the event of missile launches from Belarusian territory, they could reach the Ukrainian region within minutes.
