Analyst warns of 'worrying signs' in south of Ukraine
In southern Ukraine, there are "worrying signs." Russian forces are attempting to exert pressure in various areas, stated Roman Pohorilyi, co-founder and analyst of the Deep State platform, in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
"If we speak in general terms, there are worrying signs, and the situation is concerning. They (the Russian forces - ed.) are trying to exert pressure in various areas. Everyone has their own perspective on the South," said Pohorilyi.
According to him, "For some, the south begins at the Vremivka bulge, for others, it's Robotyne, for someone else, it’s strictly the Kherson region, while others look at it geographically, and so on." However, there are various zones that raise alarm.
"There is Kamianske, if I’m not mistaken, which is already near Zaporizhzhia. This is the area towards Novodarivka. They (the Russian forces - ed.) are also trying to demonstrate some kind of activation there. We will see how it all develops," added the analyst.
He noted that there is also a certain level of activity among the Russian forces in the Vremivka bulge area. The village of Zolota Nyva is practically "entirely red."
"They are exerting pressure there after their recent successes. There has been some activation, but no large-scale offensive operations are underway. It depends on the situation. We will see how many resources the Muscovites (Russians - ed.) have, how much they are willing to use, and what are their general plans there," Pohorilyi explained.
He emphasized that the situation in this section of the front also depends on the conditions faced by the Ukrainian forces.
"It means whether we hold or do not hold. Whether they find a weak spot or not. But there are warning signs, so the south will likely be mentioned more frequently in general. We will see," added the analyst.
Situation in southern Ukraine
Recently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian forces are attempting to attack along the entire line of engagement in southern Ukraine. However, there has been no significant accumulation of enemy forces sufficient for large-scale offensive operations.
One of the hottest areas along the front line is from Pryiutne to Velyka Novosilka, as well as near Orikhiv and Huliaipole.
At the mouth of the Dnipro River in the Kherson direction, the enemy is trying to take control of the islands and is constantly shelling and striking Kherson and the riverside settlements.
The situation remains tense along the Dnipro River coastline in the Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly around Nikopol and Marhanets.
Additionally, the enemy is also redeploying personnel of assault groups to forward positions and preparing for offensive actions near Robotyne.
