Kremlin claims Ukraine war is nearing its end
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said the war is moving toward an end as Moscow signals it is ready to resume talks with Ukraine and the United States.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Russia’s war against Ukraine is moving toward an end, though he said he could not say how close that outcome was. His comments followed Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff. Ushakov said Putin had told Witkoff that Moscow was ready to resume trilateral talks with Ukraine and Washington around November 10. He said the proposed discussions would focus on a postwar security system for Russia and Ukraine. Media reports say Trump wants Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Putin to sign a peace agreement at a G20 summit in Miami, Florida, in December, while noting that Kyiv could face pressure during negotiations.
