Zelenskyy: US will do everything to end hot stage of war this year

The United States wants to bring the hot phase of Russia's war against Ukraine to an end this year. Washington will do everything possible to achieve this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a press conference.
"I believe that the United States will do everything to ensure that the hot stage of the war ends this year. I believe this is their goal, and they will do everything for this," the president said.
At the same time, he emphasized that doing everything to end the war without helping Ukraine is "a slightly different format." In fact, it is "peace through strength, but not in the direction of Russia."
Zelenskyy believes that the United States considers the ceasefire to be the end of the war. For Washington, this will be a "great success."
"We believe we have security guarantees. Yes, we understand that it is expensive and not as easy as agreeing on a ceasefire. We want to guarantee security for our people," he clarified.
US plans
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated several times that Russia's war against Ukraine must stop. He noted that it was necessary to stop "millions of deaths" on the battlefield.
At the same time, the Financial Times, citing its own sources, wrote that Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin want a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia to come before Easter (April 20) or May 9.
For its part, Fox News reported that the US and Russia have allegedly prepared a three-stage plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine. And the first stage should be a ceasefire.
