Zelenskyy: US to supply Ukraine with Patriot missiles monthly

Ukraine and the US have agreed to supply Kyiv with interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems on a monthly basis, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
According to him, the US is in the best position to help Ukraine with air defense missiles.
"The US will supply Ukraine with Patriot interceptor missiles every month. We have an agreement," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, he noted that the missiles would still not be enough.
Air defense missile shortage
It should be recalled that Russia has recently intensified its aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities. Ukraine is unable to intercept ballistic missiles due to a shortage of Patriot missiles.
Commenting on the aftermath of one of the attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on partners not to delay the delivery of ballistic missile interceptors, saying that delays cost Ukrainian lives.
At the same time, compared with last year, deliveries of air defense missiles have decreased threefold, although partners have the necessary resources.
According to the head of state, partners justify the shortage by their involvement in events in the Middle East. However, Ukraine is being forced to accelerate the development of its own defense systems to make up for the shortfall in Western assistance.
Zelenskyy also suggested that Ukraine may be receiving fewer air defense missiles due to Western attempts to make it more compliant.
