President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the overnight strike by Russian forces on Ukrainian territory, calling for increased pressure on Russia. Ukrainian leader made the following statement on his Telegram channel.

What happened earlier

Last night, the Russian army launched nearly 60 drones over Ukrainian territory. According to Ukraine`s Air Force, the drones were launched from four locations in Russia: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

In total, Ukraine`s air defense forces destroyed 25 drones. In particular, air defense units were active in the Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions.

Zelenskyy’s reaction

According to the President, rescue operations continued almost all night in areas where debris was found.

“Unfortunately, three people were killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. There are injured individuals who are receiving necessary medical assistance. The rescue operation only concluded at 9 a.m. Kyiv time,” Zelenskyy wrote.

The President expressed gratitude to rescuers, medical workers, police officers, and everyone who helped save lives.

“I also thank every leader and every country that is putting pressure on Russia to end this unprovoked and terrorist war. In particular, there must be accountability for every component used to produce Shahed drones and missiles supplied in violation of sanctions. Russia would not be able to wage war at all if its collaborators were genuinely restricted from supporting this terror and these assaults on the front,” Zelenskyy wrote.

Consequences of Russia’s attack

Due to the enemy UAV attack, the injured and killed victims were reported in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. There was damage to apartment buildings, private homes, and vehicles.

Earlier, it was reported that debris from enemy drones fell in two districts of the Kyiv region. In total, three people were killed in the region during the Russian air attack.

In addition, in one village in the Lviv district, debris from a Shahed drone damaged a residential building, breaking windows and doors. A crater 4 meters in diameter formed nearby.
