Zelenskyy speaks about Putin's potential participation in peace summit
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not want to participate in the peace summit. He doesn’t know what to do once the war is over, citing an interview by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with representatives of leading media outlets from Northern European countries.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine must be strengthened before any negotiations.
According to him, Kyiv is ready for Russia to participate in a second peace summit, but for that, there must be a peace plan. A plan involving countries of the Global South is also necessary.
Zelenskyy assured that Ukraine is open to adding points to its plan suggested by China, Brazil, and other countries, provided these points are based on the UN Charter and contribute to halting hostilities.
"We are ready; we are very open. But when they heard I was ready, they said Ukraine only wants its own plan. No," he added.
The president said that Kyiv will prepare a peace plan in November, and if there are proposals from other countries, a joint plan may be created.
"If they (the countries of the Global South) want to invite Putin, fine, let them invite him. But there’s one thing: he doesn’t want to because he doesn’t know what to do after this war, what he’ll do next. We have our plan, but he has his own," Zelenskyy stressed.
Peace plan
Ukraine is currently holding thematic conferences on each item in the peace formula. Their purpose is to develop ways to implement the peace formula, which will form the basis of the peace plan.
This peace plan is intended to be presented to Russian representatives at the second peace summit. However, Moscow is currently categorically refusing to participate.
To push Russia towards dialogue, Kyiv has developed a victory plan designed for its partners. Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly presented this initiative during his speech in the Rada.
