President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shares a video on his official Telegram account showing the aftermath of a Russian ballistic strike on the center of Izium in the Kharkiv region.

According to Zelenskyy, a rescue operation is currently underway in the city. The Russian strike also destroyed the city council building.

There are casualties among local citizens, particularly 20 were injured and five more killed.

"My condolences to the families and loved ones. This brutality cannot be tolerated. Maximum pressure must be applied to Russia - through military force, sanctions, and diplomacy – to stop the terror and protect lives," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As previously informed, the Russian army shelled the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 4, with the first casualties already reported.
