Zelenskyy rejects any territorial concessions to Russia: There are no lines for evil
Ukraine will not agree to territorial concessions to end the war. It will only give Russia a pause before a new war, says President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the French National Assembly.
"Can Putin win the war? No, because you and I have no right to lose. Can this war end on the lines that exist now? No, because there are no lines for evil, not 80 years ago, not now. And if someone tries to draw temporary lines, it will only give a pause before a new war... Hitler overcame line after line, and so does Putin today,” Zelenskyy said.
He expressed confidence that Ukraine would be able to win the war. Ukraine believes in its victory, just as the Allied forces did during World War II, he said.
"Can we win this battle? Absolutely, yes. We can. Ukraine, and therefore Europe. Europe, and therefore France. I am sure of it, and so is France. France believed in freedom when D-Day (Normandy landing) had not yet taken place, but that landing day, as well as the day of a European victory, was inevitable,” the president added.
Zelenskyy's visit to France
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. Zelenskyy is taking part in events dedicated to D-Day, the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy during World War II.
In France, Zelenskyy is expected to meet with US President Joe Biden.
