President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier. One of the topics of discussion was the defense needs of our country, according to the press service of the Office of the President.

Zelenskyy praised Germany's attention to Ukrainians accepted by the country following the full-scale Russian invasion and Steinmeier's personal solidarity, including his visit to the de-occupied areas of the Chernihiv region.

The President of Ukraine informed his counterpart about the situation on the front line and the current defense needs of our country's defenders.

The Ukrainian head of state also emphasized the significant importance of the security guarantees agreement signed with Germany.

"Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Frank-Walter Steinmeier emphasized the importance of launching joint arms production," the Office of the President specified.

Zelenskyy's visit to Germany

It is worth noting that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Germany today, February 16, on a visit.

He has already met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and signed an agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine.
