Zelenskyy holds meeting with regional governors on energy, fortifications, and security
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the heads of regional administrations. The topics discussed included the operational situation in the regions, energy, and more, according to the president's Telegram channel.
The key topics discussed during the meeting were the operational situation in each region, the energy sector, fortifications, and security.
Among other things, they discussed the possibility of cooperation with representatives of the US states.
"Together we can cooperate in energy, education, healthcare, rehabilitation, and shelter provision," he added.
The situation with electricity in Ukraine
Russia has intensified massive shelling against Ukraine in recent months. Energy infrastructure facilities are the main targets, leading to the rolling blackouts again.
According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the situation with electricity will improve starting on July 20, after completed repairs at some generation facilities that will increase the capacity of the power system.
It is also likely that in September, blackouts will probably stop. However, this scenario will not last long.
Because of the power shortage, the Ministry of Education and Science recommended that educational institutions start the school year in August and hold classes in the warmer months of the year.
