President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy explains why it is important to encourage the Global South states in the Peace Summit on Ukraine.
"It is important to involve the Global South. Why? Not because they are special, everyone is equal in the world. But they have their own economy with the Russians and their own relations. And when in the place of (Turkish President Recep Tayyip - ed.) Erdogan and the UN Secretary-General will be UN Secretary-General, Erdogan, a Frenchman, an American, and someone else, let them 'sign' with the Russians. We will only be in favor. But I think it will be very difficult, almost impossible for him (Russian President Vladimir Putin - ed.) to jump out,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, this means that he will no longer lie to Ukraine, but to them. And the fact that his word is worthless will be clear to everyone, especially to those who were and still are skeptical.
Peace Summit
The event will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland and will be dedicated to discussing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula.
Russia is trying to sabotage the summit by discouraging countries loyal to it from participating. Russia has not been invited to the summit, but it will have the opportunity to participate in a conference on the outcomes of the summit.
About 90 countries have confirmed their participation in the summit. Some of the delegations will not be represented at the highest level.
