Zelenskyy explains latest sanctions: Who they hit and why

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced three sanctions packages today. Zelenskyy stated that they include propagandists, individuals involved in investing in Russia, and more, according to the official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian President.
In particular, Zelenskyy provided clarification on each of the sanctions packages:
- the first package - against Russian individuals involved in financing Russian terrorist activities, financial fraud, and schemes to circumvent sanctions in the interests of Russia;
- the second package - against propagandists whose lies fuel Russia's attacks on Ukraine;
- the third package - against members of Russian mafia groups who have significantly helped establish Putin's regime and are still associated with it.
"We are working on synchronizing Ukrainian sanctions with the sanction regimes of the European Union and other key global jurisdictions," the statement says.
Zelensky also announced that new sanctions are already being prepared. Their target - individuals and legal entities from Russia and those associated with this country, who work for the war, and who serve as a backbone for the Russian regime.
"New decisions of the National Security and Defense Council - coming soon," the Ukrainian President added.
