Zelenskyy announces arrival of 2 defense systems capable of shooting down everything
Today, on February 2, Ukraine received two more air defense systems capable of shooting down all enemy aerial targets, announces President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"And the main news for today - the news we have all been eagerly awaiting, for which we have been working for months at various levels. The result is that two more air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine. All details, of course, should not be discussed publicly. But the systems - they shoot down everything," emphasizes the head of the state.
He adds that with the help of such weaponry, Ukrainian soldiers will defend regions of the country.
Zelenskyy also emphasizes that while the systems are still not sufficient for the complete defense of Ukraine, they are "working on it every day."
Air defense systems for Ukraine
Ukraine's Western allies have repeatedly provided air defense systems to our country. In particular, they transferred weaponry capable of shooting down enemy ballistic missiles.
As of now, Ukrainian defenders have only two types of such anti-aircraft missile systems capable of shooting down "all" targets - these are Patriot and SAMP/T.
The last known supply of Patriot to Ukraine was on December 14 of last year. At that time, Germany handed over such an air defense system to our military.
