RBC-Ukraine reports when the premiere will take place and what surprises the fifth part of the legendary franchise has in store.
What is known about the premiere
Disney and Pixar have officially confirmed that Toy Story 5 will be released worldwide in cinemas on June 19, 2026. The film is being developed by the team that worked on the previous installments of the franchise. As for the voices of the main characters, fans can expect the return of the familiar original voice cast.
The creators promise to make the new film more modern and to show how toys try to compete with gadgets, tablets, and digital entertainment that increasingly capture children’s attention. This theme will be one of the key elements of the new story.

Storyline
The main plot details are still being kept secret by the franchise’s creators, but a few facts have been revealed. In particular, Buzz Lightyear and the other toys will face new challenges in a world dominated by technology. Once again, the story will focus on the struggle for a child’s attention and love, but this time the toys’ rival will not be other characters — it will be the digital world.
In addition, Pixar hints that the characters will have an emotional reunion with Woody, whose scenes fans felt were missing in the previous installments of the franchise. These moments are expected to become some of the most touching in the entire series.
How it all began
The first Toy Story was released back in 1995 and became a true revolution in animation. It was the world’s first full-length feature film created entirely using computer-generated imagery. That was when audiences were first introduced to the cowboy Woody, the space ranger Buzz Lightyear, and the other inhabitants of Andy’s room.
