Winter Olympics 2026: Full opening day competition schedule

On Friday, February 6, the main sporting event of the four-year cycle will begin in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Viewers will see qualification events and the official opening ceremony of the Olympic Games 2026.

Programme: figure skating and curling
The first half of the day will feature team figure skating events and the group stage of the curling tournament.
10:00 a.m. — Ski jumping (women, normal hill): third round of official training.
10:55 a.m. — Figure skating: rhythm dance (team event).
11:00 a.m. — Luge: men's singles training runs.
11:05 a.m. — Curling (mixed doubles, session 5): Sweden — Great Britain, Italy — Switzerland, USA — Canada.
12:35 p.m. — Figure skating: pairs short programme (team event).
2:35 p.m. — Figure skating: women's singles short programme.

Alpine skiing and hockey tournament
The daytime block will continue with alpine ski training and women's hockey matches.
12:30 p.m. — Alpine skiing: official downhill training (women and men).
1:10 p.m. — Hockey (women, Group B): France — Japan.
3:35 p.m. — Curling (mixed doubles, session 6): Czech Republic — USA, Italy — Estonia, South Korea — Great Britain, Sweden — Norway.
3:40 p.m. — Hockey (women, Group A): Czech Republic — Switzerland.
Official start of the Games
The main event of the day will be a large-scale show marking the start of the Winter Olympics 2026.
9:00 p.m. — Opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
