Children often find themselves in bad company, suffering both themselves and their parents. But why does this happen? Psychologist Oleksii Satanovskyi explains the reasons behind this on Instagram.

Why do children end up in bad company?

"Children end up in bad companies for one reason, and I'm not talking about all cases, but most often they are lazy, irresponsible, behave badly, don't do what they're supposed to, don't know how to do something, and quarrel," says the psychologist.

According to Oleksii, many adults are highly adept at criticism. Being among good people and being bad is unpleasant. But by joining a group where similar bad kids hang out, you become cool there. And so the child ends up in such a group, and first of all, they stop feeling themselves as they should, they feel among their own.

The child feels cool and awesome, and that's nice, it's a pleasant feeling. Because constantly feeling bad is an unpleasant feeling. And where does the child choose to go? Of course, to where they feel respected, and valued, where they mean something and have some status in society.

"It's worth feeling in oneself, first of all, noticing something good, something cool in the child, something they succeed at, something they can be respected for. They're not born that way, they're born healthy, and then we make them like ourselves," explained Oleksii.
