When to expect high-level talks between US and Russia, Secretary of State explains

It is premature to expect high-level negotiations between Russia and the United States at this time. Currently, the White House is assessing Moscow's response to Washington's efforts to end the full-scale war in Ukraine, Barron's reports, citing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
When asked by a journalist if the time had come for dialogue between the US and Russia at the highest level, Rubio replied that more progress was needed at the technical level before any dialogue could take place.
"There's a lot of work to be done with both sides, particularly with the Russian side, which we haven't talked to for years," the US Secretary of State explained.
Regarding how much time it would take to make progress, Rubio said that he couldn't provide a timeline, because "it doesn't depend on us (the US - ed.)." He also added that the administration of President Donald Trump would hold consultations to discuss the results of the latest talks with Russia.
US-Russia negotiations
Recently, the US and Russia held a series of negotiations. The last dialogue, according to media reports, lasted more than 12 hours. The US State Department noted that Ukraine and Russia are now closer to a ceasefire than ever before.
Later, the Kremlin stated that negotiations between Russia and the US would continue, with the involvement of the UN and other countries.
