Vitamins to prevent hair loss and gray hair
Vitamins are crucial components of our diet, and their presence or absence can have a significant impact on health. That's why it is important to know which vitamin deficiencies can lead to graying of hair and hair loss, according to nutritionist Vira Kuryn.
What causes gray hair
Many people believe that gray hair is purely genetic, but that's not always the case. The nutritionist suggests that early graying due to genetic reasons occurs before the age of 30-35. Research on cases beyond this age has shown that in 80% of instances, graying is characterized by a deficiency in micro- and macronutrients.
A low level of B-group vitamins, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12, as well as vitamin D, iron, and selenium, accompanies the appearance of gray hair even in childhood and adolescence.
"If you're not ready to see silver strands in the mirror, try to eliminate non-genetic factors negatively affecting the body and address vitamin deficiencies with supplements," the report says.
