Usyk-Fury 2: $114 mln purse and other financial details of upcoming fight
Part of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk's record-breaking earnings from the rematch against Tyson Fury will be invested in new Web3 features for the Ready To Fight project, according to sources within the champion’s camp.
Earlier, the media revealed that Oleksandr Usyk is set to earn a record-breaking purse for his rematch against Tyson Fury. According to The Sportster, the total purse for the Usyk-Fury rematch is expected to be $190 million, with a 60/40 split in favor of the winner of the first bout.
This means Usyk’s purse will amount to $114 million, while Fury will take home $76 million.
How will Usyk spend this money? Sources from the champion’s team did not confirm the exact purse amount, citing contractual confidentiality. However, they disclosed two intentions Usyk plans to allocate a significant portion of his earnings.
First, support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Usyk has consistently provided significant financial support to Ukraine’s military - both through his Usyk Foundation and direct contributions to specific units. He remains committed to keeping these donations private as a matter of principle.
Second, investing in his startup. For two years already, Usyk and his team have been developing Ready To Fight, a Web3 social network for boxers and fans. The champion envisions this project as a game-changer for the sport, providing opportunities for talented athletes worldwide and giving fans a voice in decision-making within the industry.
For Usyk, Ready To Fight is not just about innovation - it’s a way to leave a lasting legacy in boxing and maintain a presence in the sport even after his active career ends.
Usyk has already convinced many boxing stars to join the project, and its logo is increasingly visible in the modern "capital" of the sport, Riyadh.
The network features its own blockchain infrastructure and payment tool - the RTF token, which is actively traded on several cryptocurrency exchanges. A significant portion of Usyk's investment will focus on expanding the platform's functionality and increasing the token’s value. Investors seem optimistic - since the news about the massive purse broke, the token's price has tripled on exchanges.
