Today Hamas released three Israeli hostages as part of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. US President Donald Trump said that despite the demand to release all of them or otherwise threaten to resume the war, the United States will support any decision made by Israel, CNN reports.

"Hamas has just released three hostages from GAZA, including an American Citizen. They seem to be in good shape! This differs from their statement last week that they would not release any hostages," Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social.

He added that Israel will now have to decide what they will do by the noon deadline today regarding the demand to release all hostages. At the same time, he noted that the United States will support any next step that the country takes.

"The United States will back the decision they make," he summarized.

What preceded it

Trump's post was about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent statement this week, in which he said that Hamas must return all Israeli hostages by noon on Saturday or else the military will resume intense fighting until Hamas is completely defeated.

This, in turn, was a reaction to the previous hostage exchange, in which three Israelis returned home in an exhausted state. In addition, the group claimed that Hamas intended to postpone today's prisoner exchange, which was scheduled for February 15, because Israel was allegedly violating the ceasefire.

Trump himself also reacted to this, stating that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas should be canceled if the group does not release all hostages by noon today. Trump then threatened that if this did not happen, all hell would break loose. At the same time, he added that the decision would also depend on Israel.
