The United States plans to build a large military base in Israel’s Otef Azza region, near the Gaza Strip, to host international stabilization forces, according to Bloomberg.

Reports indicate that the project aims to support the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and ensure security in the region.

Planned stabilization base

According to Bloomberg, the new facility would be capable of hosting up to 10,000 troops and providing nearly 1,000 square meters of office space for a full year.

US military officials are currently assessing construction costs and consulting with prequalified contractors to build a temporary, self-sustaining infrastructure designed to support a large contingent of personnel.

The proposed location is the Otef Azza area, adjacent to the Gaza Strip. The plan is reportedly linked to the need for coordination with other nations to monitor the ceasefire and maintain stability in post-conflict zones.

International participation and mission goals

The United States is seeking international backing to form a Multinational Stabilization Force that will cooperate with Israel and Egypt.

The main mission of these forces will be to maintain security and support reconstruction following more than two years of fighting between Israel and Hamas.

US Central Command spokesman Tim Hawkins clarified that American troops will not be stationed directly in Gaza, and that planning is underway in coordination with international military partners to determine optimal deployment options.

The Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office recently issued arrest warrants for 37 Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing them of committing genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Meanwhile, after months of fighting, the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has sharply deteriorated, with massive accumulations of debris and waste amid ruined buildings and tent camps.
