US President Donald Trump has declared the completion of the military operation against the Iranian regime, according to the Instagram account of Fox News journalist Maria Bartiromo.

According to Bartiromo, the US President, when asked whether the war in Iran was over, stated that it had indeed ended.

"I just left the president. It was a great interview. He said a lot about the economy, about the Iran war, about NATO. One thing that I'll leave you with. I said to him: 'Mr. President, you keep talking about the war like was, was, was. I said, is it over?' He said: 'It's over,'" the Fox News journalist noted.

End of the conflict in the Middle East

The two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran, brokered by Pakistan, proved fragile.

The negotiations in Islamabad on a permanent end to the war failed due to Tehran's refusal to meet key demands – to abandon its nuclear program and stop supporting proxy forces. After this, US President Donald Trump announced a naval blockade of Iranian ports, which would begin on April 13.

According to him, it would be easy to strike Iran's desalination plants and power stations. At the same time, UK stated that it would not take part in the blockade, citing its own objectives.

The US and Iran are holding active consultations regarding a new round of negotiations to end the war, which could take place as early as April 16. Islamabad and Geneva are being considered as possible venues, though no final decision on the meeting location has been made yet.

Iran has demanded compensation from five Arab countries, suspecting them of involvement in the US and Israeli military operation, and accused them of facilitating aggression and violating international law.
