Senior US officials are preparing for a possible Washington-led strike on Iran in the coming days, reports Bloomberg.

According to sources, the situation is still developing and could change. Some individuals pointed to potential plans for a strike over the weekend.

Another source revealed that the heads of several federal agencies have also begun preparations for a possible attack.

Bloomberg added that the officials’ preparations indicate Washington is setting up the infrastructure for a confrontation with Tehran.

The report also notes that the few days of waiting before a potential strike give Iranian leaders a chance to show US President Donald Trump that they are willing to limit certain uranium enrichment activities to deter a US attack.

Trump is ready to strike Iran but is holding back

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump approved a US plan to attack Iran. However, he is holding off on carrying it out to see if Tehran will abandon its nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Axios reported that in recent days, Trump has been focused on one key question: whether US missiles can successfully destroy Iran’s nuclear facility. Specifically, the concern is about the underground uranium enrichment plant at Fordow, located inside a mountain.

Last night, reports also emerged that the US may be preparing not just one, but several strikes on the site. An ABC source revealed that Trump is coming to terms with the idea of destroying Iran’s nuclear facility.
