Hackers from Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence (DIU) have attacked more than 800 servers across various regions of Russia over the past four days. All data has been destroyed without the possibility of recovery, according to RBC-Ukraine's sources.

According to a military intelligence source, the attack by Defense Intelligence of Ukraine's cyber corps destroyed all documents and data stored on the affected servers, which were the servers of military, administrative, and financial institutions that support Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

"The loss of data and documentation has led to a partial or complete halt in service providers' operations in various sectors. It will also require additional resources for data recovery efforts and will once again demonstrate to the local population the low level of technical infrastructure in Russia," the source said.

It is noted that all data on the attacked servers has been deleted beyond recovery.

DIU cyber operations in Russia

Ukrainian cyber specialists from the Main Directorate of Intelligence continuously conduct operations on Russian territory. Recently, Rosselkhozbank and JSC Moscow Credit Bank were subjected to hacker attacks.

In March, DIU hackers simultaneously attacked several critical servers in Russia. At the end of February, Ukrainian hackers attacked Russia's largest internet portal, Mail.ru, causing some users to lose access to their accounts.

Additionally, in December 2023, Ukrainian hackers disrupted the operations of one of the largest ERP systems, 1C-Rarus, which is used for accounting services.
