The Russian Federation needs a ceasefire because the aggressor country's economy is weak. Moreover, next year, Russia's economy may face serious and irreversible trends, according to Oleh Ivashchenko, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, during the "Ukraine. Year 2025" forum.

At the same time, Ivashchenko noted that a "pause" is necessary for Russia to prepare for a new attack against Ukraine.

"Regarding the ceasefire. Yes, Russia needs it. It needs a pause. A pause to restore the economy, accumulate resources, prepare the army, regroup forces, and continue a new aggression against Ukraine," Ivashchenko stated.

According to Ivashchenko, Russia does not see itself without Ukraine and Belarus, which it has already almost occupied.

"The economy is currently weak and has a tendency to deteriorate. Everything accumulated during Putin’s rule has already been spent. By the end of the year, next year may bring difficult and irreversible economic trends," he added.

He emphasized that this is "right," as the enemy must pay a high price for launching its aggression.

During the same forum, Oleh Ivashchenko stated that the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine is aware of Russia's plans regarding Ukraine and other countries. In particular, Kyiv has information about Russia's objectives at least until 2030.
