Ukrainian intelligence identifies Russians responsible for executing four POWs near Robotyne (armyinform-com-ua)
Russian military shot four Ukrainian prisoners of war near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. Ukraine's intelligence identified the soldiers involved, reports the agency.
According to intelligence, Russian servicemen shot Ukrainian prisoners of war in late May 2024, near Robotyne.
The execution was recorded on video. The footage shows four Ukrainian soldiers surrendering unarmed with their hands up, the Russians forcing them to lie down and shooting them at point-blank range.
According to the intelligence, the Russians involved in the crime were members of the assault group of the 70th motorized rifle regiment (71718 unit) of the 42nd motorized rifle division of the 58th army of the southern district of the Russian Armed Forces. Their permanent location is the town of Shali in Chechnya.
At the time of the execution of Ukrainian POWs near Robotyne, the 70th motorized rifle regiment was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Abayev Yuriy Mairbekovich, born in 1990, called “Buffalo”. Those also involved:
- Captain Dmitriy Nagorny, born in 1995, commander of the 2nd battalion;
- Senior Lieutenant Temirlan Abutalimov, born in 1997, commander of the 1st assault company;
- Lieutenant Zaur Bekov, born in 1997, commander of the 3rd assault company;
- Senior Lieutenant Yusup Imagazaliyev, born in 1999, commander of the 6th assault company.

These Russian war criminals may also be involved in the murder of several more Ukrainian POWs later in May 2024. This is evidenced by intercepts of talks between Russians from the 70th regiment, during which one of the Russian assault company commanders ordered his subordinates to shoot Ukrainian soldiers.
Executions of Ukrainian soldiers
Ukrainian law enforcement officers have recorded more than 60 cases of executions of Ukrainian soldiers by the Russian military.
Recently, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin reported on the brutal murder of a Ukrainian defender in the Donetsk region. The Russians beheaded the Ukrainian soldier.
Law enforcement officers have identified the soldier executed by the Russians. Russian commanders involved in the crime were also identified.
