Ukrainian forces reveal Russian General Grunis elimination

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces successfully eliminated Russian Major General Anton Grunis, who recently reported to Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the alleged “capture” of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, announced.
According to Madyar, the operation was carried out by troops from the 427th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces, known as Rarog.
On September 12, they managed not only to locate Grunis in the Russian-occupied part of the Donetsk region, but also to carry out a devastating strike against him.
Against this backdrop, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces recalled Putin’s words about the general: “A man with a Lithuanian surname, born in Kazan, is fighting brilliantly.”
Madyar also noted that Grunis was awarded the title of “Hero of Russia” after reporting to the Kremlin leader in July 2026 that Kostiantynivka had been completely “captured.”
“As a person with a Hungarian surname, born in Ukraine and fighting with the Birds for our homeland, I report by word of mouth: General Grunis was eliminated by the ‘awards’ unit of the Birds’ retaliation team of the Unmanned Systems Forces on September 12, 2026, in his nighttime hideout in the Russian-occupied part of the Donetsk region,” Madyar confirmed.

He also pointed out that Grunis was already the seventh confirmed military commander at the level of brigade commander, division commander, or army commander to be eliminated by members of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
“This time, the Birds of the 427th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Rarog, carried out the operation with precision. Thank you for your dedicated service and heroic fight, Birds! We will stand. Moscow will fall,” Madyar said.
