Ukrainian forces defeat elite Russian assault group on Avdiivka front
The Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka direction have defeated an elite group of Russian assault troops, and this process has been captured on video, reports the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
"The defeat of the elite Russian assault group of the 15th Separate Guards Brigade," the report says.
It is noted that the soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade halted the enemy's advance, eliminating the occupiers and their equipment in the Avdiivka direction.
The soldiers reported that this was achieved thanks to successful strikes by the drone strike platoon in cooperation with the legendary Bradley crews.
Situation in the Avdiivka direction
On the night of February 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced the decision to withdraw Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka, the Donetsk region, which was under threat of enemy encirclement. On February 18, Dmytro Lykhovyi, a spokesperson for the Tavria operational-strategic group, stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had completed the withdrawal of units from the city.
At the same time, Russian forces did not stop at capturing Avdiivka and continued to advance with significant forces, pressing on surrounding villages. On February 26, the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew from the village of Lastochkyne in the Donetsk region, located 6 km from Avdiivka. In addition, on February 27, the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew from the villages of Sieverne and Stepove in the Avdiivka direction.
The commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, reported that Russian forces have had local successes in the Avdiivka direction. This is due to several factors, although the situation on this front remains dynamic.
