Ukrainian defense forces hit Russian Nebo-M radar with ATACAMS missiles - General Staff
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have successfully struck a Russian Nebo-M radar station. Targeting this system is notably challenging, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' missile forces successfully hit the Russian Nebo-M radar station with ATACMS ballistic missiles," the statement reads.
According to military sources, its destruction significantly diminishes the Russian army's ability to detect, track, and intercept aerodynamic and ballistic targets.
"The destruction of the Nebo-M radar will create a favorable 'air corridor' for the effective use of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles," the General Staff added.
About Nebo-M station
The Nebo-M radar system is a highly complex target to strike. It operates in stealth mode, scanning the horizon for aerial objects.
Available information suggests that the enemy has only 10 operational systems of this type remaining, with each estimated to be worth over $100 million.
