Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting with commanders of unmanned systems units. Decisions were made on the use of drones at the front.

The meeting was held in a closed video conference format. The command summarized the results of their joint work.

Syrskyi heard a report by Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the formation of certain units and the results of the use of drones.

The heads of structural units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine also reported on the development of the capabilities of unmanned aerial systems units.

“I identified specific tasks to accelerate the development of this type of force, increase the number of UAV units, respond to new challenges from the enemy, and introduce advanced technological developments on the battlefield,” the commander said.

According to Syrskyi, in September, there was a positive trend in the defeat and destruction of enemy targets by attack drones. The Commander-in-Chief awarded 147 servicemen with insignia.

“I am grateful to everyone who develops, manufactures, and supplies drones to the army. Special thanks for the training of future UAV operators,” he added.

Ukrainian drones

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has increased production of various types of drones. Drones are produced by both state-owned and private companies.

Ukraine produces not only copters, but also attack drones, reconnaissance drones, and maritime drones. They are used by Ukrainian defenders to attack Russian ships and facilities in the Black Sea.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine can produce 4 million drones a year.
