President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi had reported to him on the situation in the Pokrovsk sector, near Toretsk and in the Kursk region of Russia. They also discussed the Ukrainian missile program.

"First of all, the frontline situation and our control measures. Heavy fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction and the defense of Toretsk. I am grateful for every result in the destruction of the Russian occupiers," Zelenskyy writes.

According to him, work continues to provide weapons and the necessary strong decisions of our partners to support our actions at the front.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief also reported on new details of the operation in the Kursk region. "We are achieving our goals. This morning, we have another replenishment of the exchange fund for our state," the Ukraine's President says.

"In addition, we discussed some aspects of our missile program with the Commander-in-Chief. I am grateful to everyone who works for Ukraine in this area - in the development and production of missiles," Zelenskyy adds.

Situation at frontline

The Russian army continues to advance on Pokrovsk. On August 20, the forced evacuation of children from the city will begin. The evacuation will also take place from the villages of Rodynske, Hnativka, Dachenske, Zhovte, Zelene, Lysivka, Novopavlivka, Novoukrainka, Pushkino, Rih, Sukhyi Yar, Troianda and Chunishyne.

In addition, Russian troops advanced in the Toretsk sector and near Donetsk. Russian troops reportedly control most of New York and may have captured the city.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been conducting an operation in the Kursk region of Russia since August 6. During this time, more than 1,000 square kilometers of Russian territory have been occupied.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have not observed the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Pokrovsk direction due to the situation in the Kursk region.
