Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief sets tasks for the military in Kursk direction
The tasks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which have been conducting operations in the Kursk region since August, are to eliminate the enemy on its own territory, citing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"Our task in this direction is to contain and destroy the enemy on its own land," he said.
Syrskyi reported that he worked with the units and subunits involved in combat operations in the Kursk direction.
"The importance of this operational area cannot be underestimated given the number of enemy forces concentrated there," he wrote.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU, if not for the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers, these tens of thousands of enemy troops from Russia's elite strike units would be assaulting Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, or Toretsk directions, which would significantly worsen the situation on the front line.
"Currently, following orders from their military leadership, they are attempting to push our forces back and advance deeper into the territory we control," he added.
Syrskyi explained that his work was focused on assisting commanders in organizing combat actions, increasing the effectiveness of strikes on enemy forces, and addressing issues of comprehensive support and reserve training.
The Commander-in-Chief of the AFU expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their resilience and bravery in the fight against Russian aggression.
