On the night of September 18, Russian troops launched 75 drones of various types at Ukraine. More than 40 of these drones were Shahed drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

“On the night of September 18 (from 9 p.m. on September 17), the enemy attacked with 75 Shahed and Gerbera strike UAVs and other types of drones,” the report said.

The attack came from four directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.

According to the Air Force, more than 40 of these UAVs were Shahed drones.

As of 9:00 a.m. on September 18, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 48 enemy UAVs across the country - in the north, east, and center. One enemy drone remained in the air.

The attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.

“Twenty-six strike UAVs were recorded hitting six locations,” the Air Force said.

Attack on Ukraine on September 18

Russian troops attacked the railway infrastructure in the Poltava region. The Myrhorod district was hit, and fires broke out.

Ukrzaliznytsia railway company warned that due to the hostilities in the Poltava region, suburban traffic has been temporarily changed. Some trains have been canceled, while others are running with reserve locomotives and may experience delays.

Air defense forces were also deployed in the Kyiv region due to the threat of the Russian army's strike drones. An air raid alert began in Kyiv at 3:26 a.m.

The UAV attack affected the Boryspil and Bucha districts of the Kyiv region, and fires broke out.
