Estonia is extending a new military aid package to Ukraine worth 80 million euros. The package includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, ships, and other essential equipment, according to the Estonian Ministry of Defense.

"Estonia has decided to send a military aid package to Ukraine amounting to €80 million military aid package, including Javelin anti-tank missiles. Ukraine’s fight for freedom can only succeed if allies continue helping Ukrainians," the statement reads.

Details of the new aid package from Estonia

According to the Estonian Ministry of Defense website, the government has supported the proposal of Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur for long-term military assistance to Ukraine and a broad package of military aid to protect against Russian aggression. The assistance includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, ships, and other necessary equipment.

In addition to a significant number of Javelin anti-tank missiles, the latest aid package also includes machine guns, munitions for light weapons, various vehicles and ships, as well as diving equipment. Exact amounts are not disclosed for security reasons. The total value of the package is almost 80 million euros.

"This aid package is compiled with the aim of maximum benefit for Ukraine without harming Estonia’s own defence capability. We are replacing the necessary stocks," explained Pevkur.

Over the next four years, Estonia is prepared to allocate 0.25% of its GDP for military assistance to Ukraine and will use funds from the defense budget to finance the aid.

Previous aid from Estonia

Together with the latest military aid package, Estonia has provided Ukraine with military assistance totaling 500 million euros since 2022, approximately 1.4% of GDP.

Previous aid packages from Estonia to Ukraine have included Javelin anti-tank missile systems, howitzers, artillery ammunition, anti-tank mines, anti-tank mortars, machine guns, vehicles, communication equipment, field hospitals, medical devices, personal protective gear (helmets, body armor, etc.), and military food rations.
