Ukrainian soldiers captured five Russian servicemen during a special operation on the front lines. The prisoners will be added to the exchange fund for the return of Ukrainian defenders, the press service of the National Guard of Ukraine reports.

In particular, the Ukrainian soldiers of the Special Forces Reconnaissance Company of the Red Kalina Brigade successfully conducted an operation on one of the fronts, resulting in the capture of five Russian military personnel.

The operation was carefully planned by the reconnaissance unit, which identified the exact location of the enemy. Based on the coordinates, infantry units advanced and forced the occupiers to stop resisting.

Realizing the futility of further resistance, the invaders surrendered to the National Guard fighters.

The published video captures the actions of the Ukrainian special forces during the capture of the prisoners. One of the detainees, according to preliminary data, holds a special status, which will be announced later.

Currently, the prisoners are in safe custody, receiving necessary medical assistance and food. They will be included in the exchange fund, which will facilitate the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war from Russian captivity.

Situation on frontline

On March 17, approximately 155 combat clashes took place on the front lines, with the most intense fighting occurring in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions.

The aviation, missile troops, and artillery of Ukraine's Defense Forces struck eight areas where Russian forces were concentrated, destroying two enemy command posts, one air defense system, and three enemy missile and artillery targets.
