Ukrainian marines successfully down Russian drones, with footage of effective air defense operations emerging, citing the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Naval service members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are destroying enemy drones," the statement reads.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

Russian forces are launching nightly attacks on Ukraine, often combining missile and drone strikes. It's not uncommon for the occupiers to target solely with drones.

For instance, on the evening of October 8, Russian troops attacked the Poltava region with three ballistic missiles. An industrial facility in the Poltava region was damaged as a result of the strike.

Later that night, air raid alarms were declared due to the threat of drones. Air defenses were active in the Kyiv region. Additionally, Russians launched drone attacks on the Odesa region, with Chornomorsk suffering from the strike. Five people were injured, and both a residential building and a medical facility were damaged.

Frontline situation

On October 8, 172 combat clashes were recorded at the front. The most intense fighting occurred in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions.

Russian forces managed to enter parts of Toretsk in the Donetsk region, with street fighting continuing in the urban area. The situation remains dynamic, with the occupiers trying to advance while Ukrainian soldiers work to thwart their plans.

Additionally, Russian forces are deploying assault groups to Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region, while also conducting reconnaissance operations in this area.
