Ukraine's General Staff: Tense situation near Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces holding Russians near Pokrovsk
There were 101 combat clashes in the Russia-Ukraine frontline over the last day. Since the beginning of the day, 34 combat clashes have been recorded, most of them in the Pokrovsk sector, according to Ukraine's General Staff.
In the Kharkiv sector, three Russian attacks are currently underway near Vovchansk. The situation is under control. Over the past day, the Russians lost 136 men in the sector.
The situation in the Kupiansk sector is tense. Three combat clashes have already taken place since the beginning of the day. In the Lyman sector, a battle is taking place near Terny, without success for the enemy.
In the Siversk sector, five Russian attempts to advance were repelled.
In the Kramatorsk sector, two enemy attacks have been repelled since the beginning of the day.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders are taking measures to prevent Russian troops from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory. There have been 10 firefights so far. Four attacks were repelled, and five are ongoing. According to updated information, in the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy lost 261 soldiers killed and wounded yesterday.
In the Kurakhove sector, the enemy launched two assault attacks. One attack was successfully repelled. The battle continues.
In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian aggressor made one unsuccessful attempt to improve the tactical situation.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Russian army tried to push Ukrainian defenders back once in the vicinity of Krynky. No positions were lost.
Losses of Russian troops
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since February 24, 2022, Russia has lost more than 517 thousand soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed 1,210 Russians.
Russia has also lost thousands of pieces of equipment, including tanks, air defense systems, artillery, MLRS, aircraft, ships, and more. The Russian Defense Ministry does not disclose the losses of its forces.
