Ukraine's General Staff on what is happening in Kharkiv sector currently
As of the morning of Wednesday, May 15, Russian forces have not been attacking Ukrainian positions in the Kharkiv direction. The occupiers are attempting to consolidate and regroup, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy has not conducted active operations since the beginning of the day, trying to consolidate their positions and regroup," the report says.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, using reconnaissance tools, are identifying separate enemy groups, the locations of their artillery, and inflicting fire damage to prevent the enemy from amassing forces and equipment in the northern part of Vovchansk.
"Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to clear urban areas, with Ukrainian artillery and drone systems keeping the concentration of Russian personnel and equipment, as well as possible enemy positions, under fire control," added the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian losses in Kharkiv sector
In total, since the beginning of the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv sector on May 10, Russia's losses in manpower amounted to 615 killed and wounded, while 98 weapons and military equipment were destroyed or damaged.
Situation in Kharkiv direction
As of the morning of May 15, attempts by Russian invaders to break through the Ukrainian defense in the Kharkiv direction have been halted. The situation has somewhat stabilized, but the fighting continues.
Moreover, according to partisans, the assault units of the occupiers in the Kharkiv direction are suffering heavy losses. Due to the large number of former prisoners in their combat ranks, conflicts frequently arise among the invaders.
Due to the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region, there is also a threat to Sumy. At the moment, the occupiers are amassing forces in the Sumy direction, but a critical grouping for an offensive in the Sumy direction has not yet been formed.
